Jake White quits the Brumbies

Jake White has tonight been granted a release from the remainder of his contract as Head Coach of the Brumbies.

With two years remaining on his contract, the news comes as a major shock to both fans and players who also seemed to find out the news of White’s leaving via Twitter.

Initial reports suggest that White asked the club on Friday to be released because of the disappointment associated with losing the Wallabies coaching role to Ewen McKenzie.

Boasting an impressive coaching resume, including a Rugby World Cup win, White invigorated the Brumbies leading them to the Super Rugby finals this year.

Named Australian Super Rugby coach of the year last month his departure will leave a huge gap at a time when it’s not needed in Australian Rugby.
