Vive Toulon!

Jonny Wilkinson’s Toulon kept themselves in the driving seat for an Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final place with a 29-10 victory over fellow French side Lyon at the Stade Felix Mayol.

The England world cup winner, who was captain for this game, only missed one kick throughout the duration of the game.  This helped Toulon secure a bonus point victory to keep them top of the group and two points ahead of nearest rivals Newcastle.

Wilkinson’s infamous inside pass led to number eight Leonardo Senatore crossing for a critical try which gave Toulon a 10-3 lead at half-time.

Lapeyre’s crossing in the 52ND minute boosted the red and black’s momentum, holding majority of the possession. Gunther crossed in the 80th minute closely followed by Rooney in the 82nd.

Toulon need to win this weekend in Italy to secure their position in the knock out rounds.
