Season wrap up of Japan’s Top League

The Top League play-offs are finished for another season with the two Top League teams that were battling to retain their spots in the competition, the Sanix Blues and NTT Docomo, being successful in their quests.

NTT Docomo’s game against Kubota was a thriller, with the final score being 29-27. 41 minutes into the game, the score was tied with 17 points belonging to each team. With Kubota having a narrow 3-point margin over their opponents in the 61st minute, Docomo managed to seal the deal with a try in the 67th minute. Victory was achieved by NTT Docomo and they will be back to compete in the 2012-2013 season. Congratulations must go to both teams for putting up an epic fight and ensuring an entertaining, nerve-wracking game for the fans that flocked to an Osaka stadium.

The game between the Sanix Blues and Toyota was hard-fought, with a win being awarded to the Sanix Blues. The convincing victory saw Sanix win by 22 points, with the final score being 39-17. Sanix will also remain in Top League for the 2012-2013 season.

With Top League being over for another season, we wait with bated breath for the next season. Various tournaments will be played throughout the year and I will keep you updated. Teams will commence training again soon and will all be working towards achieving the dream of being victorious in the 2012-2013 season. I wish everyone an enjoyable year watching some of the exciting southern hemisphere rugby and I look forward to sharing the epic journey that is the 2012-2013 season with you all.
